These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Flourish, including our website and app. By creating an account or using Flourish, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Flourish is operated by Kian King, trading as Flourish Companion, based in Scotland, United Kingdom. You can contact us at support@flourishcompanion.org.
Flourish is a study companion app designed to help you plan, study, and reflect more effectively. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, we recommend using Flourish with the awareness of a parent or guardian.
You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for any activity that happens under your account.
Flourish offers a free plan with core features at no cost, and a paid Pro subscription that unlocks additional features. Pro pricing, billing frequency, and included features are shown at the point of purchase and may change from time to time, with reasonable notice given to existing subscribers.
If you are not satisfied with Flourish Pro, contact us within 14 days of your first payment at support@flourishcompanion.org and we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis, in line with UK consumer law.
Flourish includes an AI-powered chat feature, built using Anthropic's Claude API. While we've designed it to be genuinely helpful, it is not a substitute for professional advice — academic, medical, financial, or otherwise. The AI may occasionally produce inaccurate or incomplete responses. Use your own judgement when acting on anything it suggests.
Flourish is not a mental health service. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or a trusted person in your life. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately.
Any study notes, journal entries, or other content you create within Flourish remain yours. By using Flourish, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
We aim to keep Flourish available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features from time to time, including during the beta period, as we continue to improve the app.
Flourish is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including academic outcomes, missed deadlines, or decisions made based on AI-generated content. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for matters that cannot be excluded under UK law, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app or by emailing support@flourishcompanion.org. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
We may update these Terms from time to time as Flourish grows. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continuing to use Flourish after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
